NYNJPAWeather (Steve D. – link on the right) recently tweeted the following regarding the potential storm next week:
Overall, all the 12Z guidance suggest a major winter storm will impact the northern Mid Atlantic from Tuesday on through Thursday morning.
At this point, I would not worry about details like snow/ice/rain lines as guidance is likely a bit too far north here.
However, the overall theme is that a moisture loaded system is going to try to overrun an Arctic air mass in place.
That can only lead to a mess with a threat for heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain before there is even a chance for any rain, if any.
